His Passing Glory 彼の過ぎ去りし栄光

Commissioned by the university to create a permanent public art installation that attracts students and staff to explore and ponder the meaning of the school in “Shek Mun”- the “stone gate” in Hong Kong. The work recreates an episode from the Bible that encourages us through the symbolism of water, light, and the rock as our foundation. AWe tracked the sun’s path and direction at the site from every season to vary how people can experience the work from the reflected and refracted lights, which delightfully sprinkle a wide spectrum of colors onto the podium area.

大学から委託を受け、学生やスタッフが「石門」という香港の学校の意味を探求し、考察するための常設公共アートインスタレーションを制作しました。この作品は、私たちの基盤としての岩、水や光の象徴を通じて励ましを与える聖書のエピソードを再現しています。私たちは、現地の太陽の道筋と方向を四季ごとに追跡し、反射と屈折する光によって人々がどのように作品を体験できるかを変化させました。その結果、広いスペクトルの色が壇上エリアに心地よく散りばめられます。
